Theme
To accomplish our overall purpose, each year we will identify a
theme that helps to frame and guide our discussions, activities and
the work of the auxiliary committees.

This year's theme will be "Living life In purpose, On purpose and With purpose: Being transformed by the renewing of our minds."

We aim to transform our lives (and the lives of those we love) by changing the way we think about who we are and why we are here.

Scripture references:
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life that both thou and thy seed may live. Deuteronomy 30:19

For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is
life and peace. Romans 8:6

Definitions:
In Purpose:
Understanding the real meaning and significance of why we exist and why we are the way we are comes from knowing and fulfilling God's unique purpose for our lives. During this year we will re-dedicate ourselves to God as instruments for His use and His glory. Knowing that we are dead to the things of God unless we are spiritually-minded, we will focus on training our hearts and minds to hear and recognize the voice of God.

On Purpose:
To walk out God's purpose we must know and intentionally apply his principles, even when we don't feel like it or it doesn't make sense to our carnal minds. To truly live, and not just exist, every woman must submit her will to God's will for every area of her life. This year we are seeking a deeper revelation of God's principles by examining His words, His ways and His will. And, by creating a greater sense of community among our women, we will challenge and encourage one another to master these principles as we grow up into Christ.

With Purpose:
As women we know that we are called to bring our spirituality into action. We often feel most satisfied when we are doing for others. The Proverbs 31 woman "provides for her household, opens her hand to the poor, and reaches out her hands to the needy… she opens her mouth with wisdom and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue." We want not only to understand how our God-given gifts will edify the body of Christ, but we want our children and husbands and communities to benefit from the special strength and grace He has imparted to His daughters. Because God has designed us to pour into the lives of others, we will spend time this year reaching beyond ourselves and
our church. We will also pursue spiritual insights on how to do all things we feel led to do, without sacrificing our relationship with God
or neglecting the care of the temple He has entrusted us with.

Women's Ministry Teams/Auxillaries
Prayer and In-reach Team

"And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for
all the saints." Ephesians 6:18

The purpose of this team is to be devoted warriors of the Word,
seeking the Lord, and listening for His voice. It is our heart to intercede for the women of LOJ, and to lead them by example to be women of prayer. If you feel called to pray for others, God can use you in this ministry to be the under girding of our church and the Women's
Ministry Team. Join us as we grow in the Lord by knowing Him better through an intimate relationship of prayer as we support the needs of others. We also have responsibility for welcoming every woman who joins LOJ in order to cultivate her sense of community and encourage her involvement. We feel that it is important that all women, from Singles to Seniors, find a place of comfort among the Christian friendship offered by ministry. The team needs the talents of ladies in all age groups who are willing to call, visit, and make new friends among those that Jesus leads to us. A few friendly moments of
contact from someone will help these women to feel the bond of love that is such a vital part of LOJ. This team will also organizes and maintains the prayer partner/circle program.

Communications Team
The Communications Team provides useful and timely information for the purpose of encouraging and equipping. This team creates newsletters, brochures, posters and informational signage in promoting the events sponsored by the Ministry. This team also develops and maintains a resource library of books/cds/videos available to members only. This team also facilitates a woman's resource network (Ask a Sister) that promotes the talents and gifts of our members - do you need to talk to a teacher about the services your child is receiving in school, are you single and need to know the name of a good contractor or mechanic, do you have a job interview and don't have the right outfit? Using a listserve and namebank this team helps connect needs with solutions.

Sharing His Grace Team
The purpose of this ministry is to provide an avenue to encourage and uplift the women of LOJ by providing emotional, physical and spiritual support. The Sharing His Grace Team supports the ladies of LOJ by making a phone call or sending a card in the mail, just to say they
are being thought about and prayed for. Additionally, the team makes hospital, nursing home or home visits during an illness or difficult time.

Retreat/Conference Team
"...They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." Acts 2:42

This team organizes a weekend of learning and fellowship. A time when women can get away and focus on improving their relationship with God and each other. This team functions all year planning the Spring Retreat. This special weekend is made possible through the efforts of many volunteers. Help is needed in the wide range of areas that encompass conference planning - speakers, lodging and travel, registration, etc.

Generation to Generation
This team focuses its efforts on bridging the gap between women of
all ages. The goal of this initiative is twofold. The first is to strengthen and empower one another, by identifying seminar topics, anointed teachers/preachers and social activities that increase the capacity of women to share across boundaries. The second is to make a special effort to ensure the needs of our young women are being met and to increase their presence and involvement at Judah.
